Located in the federal state of Lower Saxony, Germany, Hildesheim is one of the eight largest cities in the region, with a history that goes back to 815, the year it was founded as an episcopal see. It is also, one of the oldest cities in Germany. It is located in the Innerste valley, southwest of Hannover and due to its religious past, it has interesting historical sites to visit such as the Cathedral of Saint Mary, the Church of Saint Michael and the Kehrwiederturm Tower from the XIV century. Its train station has high-speed connections to Berlin, Frankfurt, Munich, Hanover and Stuttgart.
