Parking in Almagro street - Madrid

Calle Almagro, in the Chamberí district, is a convenient option for parking near the centre of Madrid. Named after Diego de Almagro, parking in this street makes it easy to get around the capital.

Where to park near Calle Almagro?

If you want to find parking on Calle Almagro in Madrid, the best option is to go to the Saba Metro Nuevos Ministerios car park. It is located at Plaza de la Castellana, 100, 28046, and is just a 20-minute walk from Calle Almagro. If you're a football lover, this Almagro car park is a 10-minute walk from the Santiago Bernabéu.

It is open 24 hours a day and has parking spaces for people with reduced mobility. In addition, to be able to enter and exit comfortably, it has VIA T access both at the entrance and exit. The maximum height allowed for vehicles is 2.8 metres.

Is there a regulated zone in Almagro Street?

Calle Almagro, like many other streets in Madrid, has regulated zones so that residents can have priority parking. Given that it is a very central area and is constantly busy, it is very difficult to get free parking.

The best thing to do if you are visiting the capital is to park in a public car park such as Saba Metro Nuevos Ministerios. That way you can forget about worrying and just concentrate on enjoying your visit.

What to do around the Almagro neighbourhood?

The Almagro neighbourhood is located in a very central area of Madrid, and is one of the busiest places in the city. This means that it offers you a wide variety of points of interest.

The Sorolla Museum

The Sorolla Museum, inaugurated in 1932 by the widow of the painter Joaquín Sorolla, houses more than 1200 pieces, mainly paintings and drawings by the artist. It is just a 15-minute walk from the Almagro car park (Saba Metro Nuevos Ministerios car park).

Of particular note is the collection of drawings that reveal Sorolla's family life and his designs for his home. In addition, the exhibition includes sculptures, ceramics, jewellery, personal objects and old photographs that capture moments in the painter's life, along with furniture that retains its original arrangement in the house.

The palace is surrounded by a charming Andalusian-inspired garden. Although not as large as the Prado Museum or the Thyssen Museum, it is an outstanding cultural institution well worth a visit.

The Paseo de la Castellana

The extensive urban artery of the Paseo de la Castellana, more than 6 kilometres long, stretches from north to south, linking the Plaza de Colón to the Colmenar Viejo and Burgos road junction. This road is an extension of the axis formed by the Paseo del Prado and the Paseo de Recoletos in Madrid.

Along its route, emblematic buildings stand out, from historic palaces to modern skyscrapers, museums, monuments and shopping centres.

Christopher Columbus Monument

Erected in 1885 by Jerónimo Suñol to commemorate the wedding of Alfonso XII and María de las Mercedes de Orleans, the monument to Christopher Columbus presides over the square from the centre of a fountain.

This neo-Gothic white marble sculpture, together with its imposing stone pedestal, reaches a height of 17 metres. The square is also home to the Jardines del Descubrimiento, inaugurated in 1970, which displays several sculptures dedicated to the discovery of America. Below the square is the Fernán Gómez Centro Cultural de la Villa.
